Did you know that certain tests need to avoid while you are pregnant, especially in the early phase? If you still need to undergo these tests, please take special precautions. In any case, your obstetrician should be fully aware of any such tests you undergo. These kinds of tests include X Rays, Mammograms, and even dental X Rays. This is because radiation from such tests has proven to cause abnormalities in the fetus.
Addictions in Pregnancy
A few of my friends did realise that their addictions have had a direct effect on the growth and development of their baby. Alcohol and nicotine are an impediment to the baby’s growth. It is best for pregnant mothers to avoid alcohol, smoking or any kind of illicit drugs. These things do not mix with motherhood. Do remember that if you do smoke or drink, you should keep your obstetrician informed of this.
It is important to inform your doctor about any prescriptive medication that you may be taking during pre-pregnancy. Any medication whether allopathic, homeopathic or ayurvedic needs to be brought to the notice of your doctor.
Remember that nine months of pregnancy is a gentle period of care and nurturing. You are giving birth to a life and it is important to care for yourself and your baby. Avoid all kind of addictions and have a healthy diet along with supplements.
